Data Protection Officer (DPO)

As prescribed by several data protection legislation, especially the GDPR, organizations should appoint a DPO. The primary role of the DPO is to ensure that your organization processes the personal data entrusted to it in compliance with the applicable data protection law.

The DPO is an integral part of the organization, acting as main contact for all privacy and data protection related questions for business units, the management, customers as well as the authorities. The main role consists on planning the data protection strategy of the organzation and overseeing the implementation of such strategy to ensure compliance.

FIRST PRIVACY provides a unique mix of services covering all the statutorily prescribed requirements by law. While creating and maintaining a record of the company’s processing activities (ROPA) and assessing high risk operations through privacy impact assessments (PIA), our team of lawyers and IT experts will design and deliver training programs for your staff; assess and configure appropriate technical and organizational measures (TOMs) to protect the personal data that your company holds and provide you with day to day support involving, for example, the evaluation of data breaches, drafting and negotiating contracts, policies, works council agreements and other documents as well as the communication with data subjects and data protection authorities.

We currently act as Data Protection Officer for more than 1000 companies and have more than 20 years of hands-on experience in the field. Renowned international companies and corporate groups have entrusted us to act on their behalf as DPO (please find an abstract of our references).
